Manually Uninstall PolicyPro


If the Microsoft Installer entry for PolicyPro is corrupted, you will need to manually uninstall the current version of the software before the update can be installed. 

Method 1—Uninstall a Program Using Programs and Features

Vista and Windows 7

  1. Click Start >Control Panel

     
  2. Click Programs
  3. Click Programs and Features
  4. Select the version of PolicyPro to be removed and click Uninstall


     
  5. If you are prompted to confirm the uninstall, click Yes.

Windows XP

  1. Click Start >Control Panel

     
     
  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs

     

  3.  
  4. Select the version of PolicyPro to be uninstalled and click Remove


     
  5. If you are prompted to confirm the uninstall, click Yes.

Method 2—Uninstall PolicyPro Using Program Maintenance

If Method 1 is unsuccessful, you may be able to uninstall the current release of PolicyPro using the Program Maintenance Screen. In order to use this method, you must know which release of PolicyPro is currently installed on your computer and you must have access to the installation package for that release.

To Determine the currently installed release

  1. Start PolicyPro and click on Help > About

     

    The PolicyPro release will be listed on the about screen

     

    If you don't have a copy of the required install package, please contact First Reference at 905-761-7305 or info@firstreference.com for a download link.
     

  2. Double-click on the install package for the installed release and follow the on-screen prompts.
  3. When the Program Maintenance screen appears click the Remove radio button and click Next.


     
  4. When you are prompted to confirm, click Remove.
