On November 27, 2017, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017 (Bill 148) received royal assent and is now law. Employers must pay attention to the major changes Bill 148 makes to the Employment Standards Act, 2000, the Labour Relations Act, 1995 and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Most employers will be required to change their practices and policies, including employment contracts and collective agreements.
